Celebrating the birthday of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin as Humanitarian Day in our Salesian Parish, Broadway Chennai, India.


On 28th of March, the birthday of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was celebrated as Humanitarian Day in our Salesian Parish, Broadway. Mr. P. K. Sekar Babu, the Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu and Mr. S. Peter Alphonse, the current Chairman of State Minorities Commission, Tamil Nadu, were the chief guests for the Humanitarian Celebration Day which was held at St. Francis Xavier’s Church and SAGAYA MADHA Shrine, Broadway, Chennai.

    The prime objective of the day’s celebration was to distribute welfare schemes to 300 deserving people in and around Broadway, Chennai which included non-Catholics and other faiths as well. Each of them was given things worth Rs. 2,500/- viz. provisions for one month, bed sheets and Rs. 500/- cash. It is also note of worthy to mention the donation of 15 Lakhs given by the minister P.K Sekar Babu for the developmental works in the Parish. Thanks to Fr. Sitrarasu, Rector and the Parish Priest, the Tamil Nadu Government and the Salesian community for their networking of resources for the good of the deserving people in the neighbourhood.
