As a part of an on-going goodwill co-operation with India, the Austrian Government initiated a world-class, state-of-the-art, skill training in hi-tech Wood technology training program in collaboration with Felder, Austria. Felder, a leading multinational company is one of the key manufacturers of wood technology machines at the world level. A ‘handshake event’ was organized in order to commemorate this historic launch at Don Bosco Tech Campus, Basin Bridge on November 9, 2017.
The Austrian Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Brigitte Oeppinger-Walchshofer – (Ambassador of Austria to India and Nepal) inaugurated the training by laying a memorial foundation stone in the presence of an august delegation from Austria – Dr. Josef Puehringer, Governor of Oberoesterreich, Austria, Mr. Johannes Nussbaumer, Head of Development Cooperation and Culture, Oberoesterreich, Austria and Mr. Hubert Huber, Head of Agriculture and Forestry, Oberoesterreich, Austria.
Mathias from Felder, Austria and a team from Jugend Eine Welt headed by Mr. Hannes Velik, Head of International Programmes & Projects, Mrs. Hildegard Pesendorfer, Rep. Oberoesterreich, Ms. Hannah Siebertz, Project Officer, Mr. Franz Koenig, Business Co-operations were also present to commemorate this event.
“Now with the advent of a new Indo-Austrian collaboration through Felder, we at the Don Bosco Tech Campus have attained greater visibility and prominence,” noted Fr. Anthonisamy.
Fr. Amaladoss Ashok, the Director of the Tech Campus, highlighted the ongoing industrial linked collaborations in the campus. “Fronius, a world-class welding machine manufacturing company and, another Austrian venture are also keen on training international welders in cooperation with Don Bosco Tech Campus,” he stated. While thanking the Austrian delegation for their willingness and interest in collaborating with Don Bosco, Fr. Xavier Pakiam, Finance Director of Don Bosco networks mentioned that the institution is not just a mere technical training institute, but they mould minds and shape the future of number of youth.
“Austria indeed is proud to initiate and replicate such joint collaboration across the country, thus enriching both the countries’ effort in bridging the skill gap between the two,” expressed the Austrian Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Brigitte Oeppinger-Walchshofer.
