The challenges of the priestly vocation

The Gift of the Priestly Vocation (Revised RATIO for priestly formation) was the topic of an appropriate presentation by Fr. Jerome Vallabaraj, which set the right tone for the meeting of formation houses at Becchi Don Bosco Theological centre. This was followed by a discussion among the 25 members - 5 from Don Bosco Thirupattur, 6 from Don Bosco Perambur, 3 from Novitiate, 8 from the Theologate, 2 Formation Commission members and Fr. Provincial.

What makes us happy as we read this? What, in this document, is strengthening us in what we are already doing? What is this document challenging us? What changes are expected of us? These questions were pondered over and discussed at length by those who participated in the meeting.
Fr. Bellarmine Fernando presented a draft of The Formation Directory of the Chennai Province (Revised), and the group discussed this with an emphasis on:

Concerns of the various formation houses
Quality of formators
Ongoing formation
Curatorium for joint formation houses
The meeting ended with the Provincial of Chennai Fr. K. M. Jose’s address.
