The History of the HouseDon Bosco – Tirupattur was founded in 1943 as Sacred Heart Aspirantate at the Sacred Heart College campus. The Sacred Heart Matriculation school (then the first matriculation school in the entire South India!) was then shifted to the present Don Bosco – Tirupattur campus in 1968 which is roughly 2 kms from the college campus with a new name “Don Bosco Matriculation School”. In 1978 it was elevated as a Higher Secondary School. Presently it houses 1033 pupils.
The primary activity of the campus remained the Aspirante which remained the only aspirantate for the whole of south India in the beginning. Later, after the birth of the Bombay and Bangalore provinces, it was restricted to providing Higher Secondary education to aspirants of Tamil Nadu (of INM & INT). Presently besides the school, the community also caters to 110 hostel boys at the Bosco Hostel, 12 post higher secondary students who prepare to join the pre-novitiate and 47 school going aspirants who are provided special formation and apostolic experiences. The aspirants also run festive oratories in the locality, reaching to over 100 children besides the evening study centres benefitting about 120 children.
