Don Bosco Matriculation School
The Don Bosco Matriculation School was blessed and inaugurated by the Provincial on the 2nd of June 2006. At present, there are about 50 students in classes L.K.G., U.K.G., Std. I and Std.VI. The other classes will proceed year by year. There are about 10 Christian students and 5 Catholic teachers. Most of the students are from middle and lower middle class families. They are given moral values, especially during the assembly and special days like Parents’ meet, Teachers’ Day and Independence Day celebrations. During the daily assembly, the students are taught religious songs and a Bible quotation is read and explained.
Don Bosco Evening Study Centres
The community runs 2 evening study centers, situated about 1 kilometer from the Salesian house – at Vadakarai and Alinjivakkam. There are about 65 students (20 Christians) and 3 teachers. The study centre hours are from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. All the students are from the nearby Government welfare school, Vadakarai. Most of them are from very poor economic backgrounds. Various cultural competitions are conducted monthly and prizes are awarded. Periodic assessment of their examination marks is done. Visits to their families are also made.
Hospice for HIV/AIDS Patients
The hospice for HIV/AIDS patients began in 2005 for those who had nowhere to turn. Now, there are 10 persons, among whom a young boy and a mother with her baby. They are taken care of by the Gospel of Life Sisters, a Pious Association that came into being in 2003, after it received diocesan approval. The Salesians look after the spiritual and material needs of the Sisters and of the hospice.
Jeeva Jyothi Illam (A Home for the Aged)
At present, the home has 100 inmates (30 men and 70 women), of which 46 Catholics and 52 Hindus. Only destitute people are admitted. They are taken good care of, free of cost. The Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC) take care of them, with the help of 8 volunteers.
Balaramapuram Leprosy Patients Rehabilitation (BALPART)
A 103 leper families are given shelter in Balaramapuram, 26 in Tiruvottiyur, 43 in Pattabiram, 30 in Tiruvallur and 32 in Ponneri. Most of the children of these patients attend different schools and boardings. Most of the adults go around begging for alms while those who can, work as coolies. Construction of houses for 30 families in the Ponneri leper colony is in progress.

Called Wisdom Town because the Wisdom magazine owner sold us the property. Recent origin. Fr. Gerard is pioneer and now Rector. It is a school, and a Sports School, which is the speciality there. That is why, the playground.
