A Spectacular Summer Camp 2008 was organized for the poor and needy students of the neighbourhood at Becchi-Don Bosco from 24th April to 21st May. This summer event flashed and exposed the talents, creative skill and zeal to learn more among 205 students who took part in the summer camp.

``To Start Afresh from Don Bosco and to Reach the Youth of today in an Effective and Tangible way`` was the mantra that reveberated at The Citadel campus as all the leaders of the province of Chennai gathered for their first meeting of this year on 11th June 2008.

The 5th of May 2008 saw the birth of Bible School Camp in our parish (Tirupattur - INM) with 112 students and 5 teachers to guide them Br. Lourdu did the spade work. The parish priest, Fr. Sitrarasu lighted the lamp, read a reading from the Bible and inaugurated the VBS.

``Kodaikondatam 2008`` Summer Camp 2008 was organized for both Evening study centre Children (5th to 12th Std.) and CFCA students at St. Bede`s from 21st April to 19th May 2008.

The Chennai Province mourns the passing away of Rev. Fr. Ittyachen Manjil SDB.

On the glorious day of May 24th when the sun shone like a rays of million lights with it, the community of Idaya Deepam woke up to a splendid fragrance - because 19 newly professed flowers bloomed that day. It was a remarkable event for these 19 young men as they made their first commitment to religious life.

Five confreres of INM - Charles Gaspar, David Maria Selvam, Manilazar Isidore, Parthibanraj Susai and Vincent Robert made their final commitment at Our Lady of Victories Church, Jolarpet on the 24th May 2008, during the solemn eucharistic celebration.
