Savian Fest 2017 - An expression of youthful talent  by MATTHEWS Dominic

    Santhome, Chennai - 600 004. Students are multi-talented and need a platform to express their talents. Hence Savian Fest 2017 was hosted on 6th and 7th of July 2017. This inter-school cultural competition was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Selvaraj. Eleven city schools participated in this competition, which was an endeavor to bring under the spot light extraordinarily talented students. The events conducted showcased intelligence, language fluency skills and artistic abilities of the students. It also gives the students of the various participating schools an opportunity to experience healthy competition where good will, fun and laughter prevailed. Savian fest 2017 was the smashing hit among the students of std XI and XII and will always be much awaited event on the academic calendar.

    The Feast of our Patron
    The feast of St. Dominic Savio was celebrated on 6th July 2017. This auspicious day began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration. The chief celebrant was Rev. Fr. Kasi Sagayaraj, Director DB Rinaldi and the mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Mathias, Principal of Dominic Savio. A short cultural program comprising of an energetic dance, a melodious song, a skit that highlighted the values followed by St. Dominic Savio and a power point presentation based on the life of the saint marked the day dedicated to our Patron. The students participated in the Eucharistic celebration whole heartedly and carried with them thoughts of piety, obedience and love for all. The program focused on instilling in the students, the values and virtues of St. Dominic Savio.

    Annual Sports Meet 2017
    The Annual Sports Meet for the Academic Year was held on 21st July 2017 at St. Bede`s Ground. The meet was inaugurated and presided over by Mr. B. Daniel, CBCID. The Guest of honour Mr. S.E.J. Easwar Rao, Income Tax Department distributed the prizes. The meet began with a brisk energetic parade of the school captains and their respective houses. An impressive pyramid formation and karate display was put up for the guests. Students from the middle school exhibited their skills in a perfectly coordinated colorful drill display. Excitement reached its peak as the races began. The overall championship was bagged by the Thomas House. The sports day concluded with the lowering of the school flag.
