Feb. 16. A three-day meeting of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) was held on February 13-15, 2012 at the Salesian Provincial House, Chennai, India. Don Bosco`s Relic Leaves India: Hundreds of thousands gather to bid farewell to the saint on his final day in India
Nov. 19. The Relic of Don Bosco which was on a pilgrimage across India for the last seven months left India last night, having traversed 27,990 km through the length and breadth of the country, everywhere evoking waves of unprecedented fervor and spiritual enthusiasm, particularly among the young. On its last day in India, the relic was taken to four places of historical importance in Chennai - the Votive Shrine at Kilpauk, the Little Mount where St Thomas the Apostle lived, the Sacred Heart Seminary at Poonamallee and St Thomas Mount, where the Apostle was martyred in the year 72 A.D. Relic attracts thousands in Krishnagiri
Nov. 14. The casket carrying the Holy Relic of Don Bosco reached Our Lady of Fathima Church, Krishnagiri, at 11.00 a.m. on 13th November. The Parish Priest Fr. Madhalaimuthu, the twenty or so native Salesians from the vicariate, headed by Fr. Vincent Mariapragasam, the first Salesian from the parish, together with the entire Christian community numbering nearly ten thousand thronged the premises to welcome the sacred Relic of Don Bosco. The people expressed their joy and jubilation by setting off firecrackers. After a grand reception the casket containing the relic was placed in the Church for public homage.
