An effort to understand the rural life

Promoting and spreading the Salesian charism around the villages in Yelagiri is a student-oriented activity of the Don Bosco College. As an extension activity based on the university paper, 252 students, divided into six groups, participated; this allows the students to study the socio-cultural environment in the neighbourhood villages.

The Bosco Reach-Out (village/rural) camp was undertaken by the 2nd year students of Don Bosco College from November 30 to December 2, 2017. On the first day, in an orientation programme, the students were taught how to serve people. Each of the six groups was assisted by three professors and the students stayed in the villages. They mainly focused on abandoned people, Dengue awareness, conducted street plays and promoted cleanliness.
