INM PC2022 – DAY 2 (23.02.2022) : Inaugural Holy Eucharist Celebrated by Archbishop Most Rev. George Antonysamy.
The Province of St. Thomas the Apostle, Chennai (INM) has begun the Provincial Chapter on
22 of February, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Kilpauk, Chennai, in the presence of 116
chapter members. The Provincial Chapter has its theme, “Totally Consecrated to God, for
the poorest young in Don Bosco’s way: Profile of the Salesian Today.”
The Provincial Chapter began with a short recollection preached by Fr. Sivy Koreth sdb from
INK Province on emphasizing the theme titled “Significance of Lay participation in our
Mission.”
On 23rd February 2022, the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, Most Rev. Dr. George
Antonysamy presided over the Inaugural Eucharistic celebration and implored God’s
blessings and guidance on the members of the Provincial Chapter. He shared in his homily
that Don Bosco has passed on a legacy and a spirituality of accompaniment that needs to be
lived in our Mission with the youth today.
During the Inaugural ceremony, the message of Rev. Fr. Biju Michael SDB, General
Councillor for South Asia Region was read to the Provincial Chapter members. He wished
them well and inviting us to renew our commitment to the poorest young.
The presence of Rev. Sr. Lazar Maria Nirmala, Provincial of FMA Chennai, Rev. Sr.
Josphine Selvi, the Superior General of SMA, Mr. Aseervatham, Provincial Councilor for
Salesian Cooperators, Mr. Sathish, Delegate for INM Past Pupil’s Association, Ms. Joy
Sandhya, the Local Responsible of the INM VDBs, and Mr. Lourdusamy, the President of
ADMA Unit, joined our inaugural ceremony and shared their reflections with the Provincial
Chapter members to refocus and to renew our commitment with the young.
Finally, Fr. Provincial thanked each one of them for the presence and inspiring messages and
declared the INM PC 2022 OPEN.
