The Final year students from all the departments (UG) participated in the program. Proceedings: The Career Guidance Program started at 9.30 am in the Jubilee Hall. Mr. Alish George, the department in- charge welcomed the Vazhikaati Team, The Management, and the students. Father Thaddeus Explained the importance of placement in the college, quoting the students of final years. The institute has its own brand name of producing the employability skill within the students through the technical and communicative skill.
He introduced Fr. Andrew Stephen Raj, the Director DBV and his nature of work in driving the students towards career guidance programme. The total number of students participated are 240. Attendance was taken in every session. The absentees are tracked and maintained. It carried out activities of ice breakers, and career opportunities. Students were given hands on the Training based on the activities of identifying the talents in them.
The second session was about creating a resume and personal profile. Students were given guidelines on the preparation of the resume specially the content to be added and removed at the time of interviews. The session ended with the profile creation in LinkedIn. The session gave the importance of creating a profile and connected with professional around the world looking for the candidates. It also mentions the importance of e-certificates and the badges creations among the students.
The third session was based on the Self assessment done by Fr. Andrew Stephen Raj and his team. The self assessment was based on the parameters self confidence, communication, English Language, Body Language and Personal Grooming & Basic Etiquette. The program came to an end by 4.30 PM with the student feedback. Feedback consist the parameters of objectives, participation, topics. The feedback was collected and maintained as a report for documentation. Student Classifications Three sessions were separated into two divisions.
The Program has given opportunities for the final years to prepare them for job oriented programmes and courses. It deeply connected with their job preparation along with subject preparation for exams. It also focused on building the talents and how to explore to the world through resume building and assessments
