Meeting to start people’s movement

In order to give voice for their rights and to bring unity among their people, the Thurumbar community of Ellupaarai approached DBSARC with a request to help them form a Sangam. This, they felt, would give them their rights and help them build houses with the help of the Government and the Salesians.

Of the 28 persons who assembled, only three were being vocal about their problems and needs, while the rest were silent, probably out of fear. After knowing their reasons to join in a group of movement, Mr Stephen raj, had an interactive session on analysing how the world society has been formed, the societal problems that have been existing in the past for many years, the leaders and the people who fought for their’s and others’ rights.
