A workshop on 3D Printing with a focus on jobs and entrepreneurship was held at SIGA – Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts, Kilpauk, Chennai on November 22, 2017. The programme was inaugurated by Fr. P T Joseph, Principal of SIGA, with the blessings of Fr. Xavier Packia, Economer, following which four sessions were conducted. Session I, addressed by Mr. Eswar, Marketing Manager, Next Generation 3D Printers, dealt with applications for 3D Printing. The Session II, dealt with Values of 3D Printing Training by Mr. P. Rosu Reddy, Business Development. In Session III, Ms. Priya, Systems Admin of Next Generation highlighted the current technologies used in 3D printing. Finally, in Session IV, Ms.Padmaja, the Course Coordinator gave details of the training programme and the course. This was followed by a demonstration of 3D printing technology.

The training facility at SIGA-NexGen 3D Printing Center of Excellence
SIGA-NexGen is a training facility partnering with local research institutes and industry to facilitate growth and education around 3D printing in Chennai. The centre will be charged with training professionals, validating 3D printing technologies and materials, as well as research in 3D printing. Partnerships with such institutes as the Indian Centre for 3D Printing and the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre, the SIGA-NexGen 3 D Printing Center of Excellence will offer training curriculum, validation programs, advisory services, and research.
