Platinum Jubilee of Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur | 16 February 2026

The evening of 16 February 2026 was marked by joy and gratitude as Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur — a distinguished institution with a proud legacy of seventy-five years in higher education — celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in the presence of the Rector Major, Rev. Fr. Fabio Attard, SDB. Known for its commitment to academic excellence and value-based formation, the college has shaped generations of young men and women in the spirit of Don Bosco, especially the poorest youth.

The programme was enriched with vibrant cultural dances and moments of felicitation, reflecting both the talent of the students and the deep appreciation for the institution’s enduring contribution.

In his Platinum Jubilee felicitation message, Fr. Fabio Attard emphasised that education is not merely about academic success but about holistic formation rooted in love, respect, and kindness. He urged the students to become gentle agents of change, using their competence with integrity and standing with the poor. True success, he reminded them, is measured not by status or position, but by the way we treat others with dignity and compassion.

Earlier in the evening, the Rector Major visited the Dominic Savio Salesian Community, where he recalled how Don Bosco’s own struggle to receive proper education in his childhood inspired him to create spaces where young people could experience both joy and learning. He appreciated institutions that open their doors to the poorest and to those who would otherwise have no opportunity for education, affirming that such schools truly continue the spirit of Don Bosco.

The day was marked by meaningful encounters and joyful celebrations with the members of the Salesian Family of the Tirupattur region joining the celebrations. It stood as a day of grace, fraternity, and renewed Salesian commitment.
