PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Don Bosco District Cubs and Bulbuls Testing Camp was successfully conducted on Sunday, 25th January 2026, at Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Perambur. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 160 young Cubs and Bulbuls, who demonstrated their scouting skills and knowledge across various proficiency levels.

INAUGURAL SESSION

The program commenced with a warm welcome and greetings to all participants, examiners, and dignitaries. The event began with the solemn flag hoisting ceremony, conducted with due reverence and discipline. Rev. Fr. Thomas, District Chief Commissioner (DCC), graced the occasion and blessed the gathering. He formally declared the testing camp open, encouraging the young scouts to give their best efforts and uphold the spirit of scouting.

TESTING SESSION

The testing was conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. Venugopal, Leader Trainer (Cubs), and Ms. Saraswati, Leader Trainer (Bulbuls). The examination covered all proficiency levels from Pravesh to Tritiya Charan, as well as sub-levels. The Cubs and Bulbuls were assessed on various parameters including:

• Scouting knowledge and theory

• Practical skills and demonstrations

• Physical fitness and outdoor activities

• Team coordination and leadership qualities

• First aid and emergency response

• Environmental awareness and conservation

The participants displayed exceptional enthusiasm, discipline, and competence throughout the testing process. The examiners commended the young scouts for their preparation and dedication to the scouting movement.

VALEDICTORY SESSION

The valedictory session was graced by distinguished guests including Rev. Fr. Thomas, District Chief Commissioner (DCC), Rev. Fr. John Peter, District Commissioner (DC), and Bro. Maridas, Administrator of Don Bosco Perambur, along with the chief examiners Mr. Venugopala and Ms. Saraswati.

Rev. Fr. Thomas congratulated all the participants for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to continue their journey in scouting with the same zeal and commitment. Rev. Fr. John Peter shared words of wisdom, emphasizing the importance of character building and service to society through scouting activities. Bro. Maridas extended his appreciation to all the organizers, examiners, and unit leaders for their tireless efforts in making the event a grand success.

The examiners provided constructive feedback and announced that the results would be communicated to the respective units within two weeks. They also highlighted the areas of improvement and encouraged the young scouts to continue their learning journey.

VOTE OF THANKS

A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended to all those who contributed to the success of the testing camp. Special gratitude was expressed to Rev. Fr. Thomas and Rev. Fr. John Peter for their guidance and support, Bro. The camp concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, filling everyone with a sense of pride and patriotism.
