The Salesian Province of Chennai was filled with joy on April 27th, 2025, as it celebrated the Priestly Ordination of 11 Deacons of Chennai Province at Don Rua Community, Tirupattur. The Sacrament of Priesthood was conferred by the Most Rev. Dr. Ambrose Pitchaimuthu, Bishop of Vellore Diocese, in a gathering of numerous priests, including the Provincials of Chennai and Trichy, along with other religious, brothers and sisters, family members, and young people who offered their prayerful support.

Bishop Ambrose provided key guidance to the deacons, emphasizing three fundamental aspects of their future Priestly ministry. Firstly, he underscored that the true realization of Ministerial Priesthood is achieved through empowering the lay faithful to recognize and live their common priesthood. Secondly, he highlighted the essential role of religious community life in fostering an experience of Christ and mitigating individualistic tendencies. Finally, he exhorted them to embrace hard work and complete dedication to their mission and the people entrusted to their pastoral care. The occasion marked a significant step for the 11 Newly Ordained Priests as they embark on their priestly service in the footsteps of St. John Bosco and with the Motherly intercession of Mary Help of Christians.
