Fr. Gianni Rolandi SDB, the Extraordinary Visitor representing the Rector Major, His Eminence Card. Angel Fernandez Artime commenced his extraordinary visit to the Chennai Province, situated in the vibrant landscape of South India. This visit, initiated on February 29, 2024, underscores a pivotal moment for the Chennai Province, as Fr. Gianni embarks on an Extraordinary journey that aims to span all communities within the province until May 31.

The formal commencement of this remarkable visit took place on March 6, 2024, as Fr. Gianni convened with the Rectors and Leaders of the Chennai Province. This important meeting serves as the foundation for the extensive itinerary planned during his extraordinary visit, providing a platform for collaborative discussions and fostering unity among the Salesian communities in the region.

It is noteworthy that Fr. Gianni had already initiated his extraordinary visit on February 29, 2024, at Fujairah, a location where the Chennai Province has established a community comprising a parish and a school. Furthermore, on March 5, 2024, Fr. Gianni met the Provincial and his council.  Fr. Gianni Rolandi’s extraordinary visit unfolds as a important chapter in the history of the Chennai Province, promising to invigorate and strengthen the bonds within the Salesian community.
