The History of the HouseUntil 1934, the Sacred Heart Shrine at the Sacred Heart College continued to be the parish church for the parishioners. But the growing number of the Catholics in town necessitated a separate parish church over the next decades. Fr. M. A. Augustine was the first parish priest in 1961, who invited Bp. David Marianayagam of Vellore to bless the church on 24th February 1964. Fr. J. Amaladossou (parish priest for 14 years 1965-1979), with his holiness and zeal established a Technical Training centre for the poor youth of the parish who were too poor to afford schooling. He also setup a commercial institute (for typing and short hand), a semi-boarding to ensure that education of the children was not affected due to poverty, a presbytery and the parish church.

After his death in the parish Fr. A. T. James as the parish priest formed prayer groups and built the chapel at Bommikuppam. The belfry, the wayside shrine of Our Lady and the chapel at Soudiyakuppam were setup by Fr. Maria Arul who succeeded him. In a 3-year duration Fr. Xavier Rodriguez (1991-1994) built up the 3-floored technical school and a hostel. Fr. Paul Bosco (1996-2002) built a new chapel at Bommikuppam, rebuilt the compound wall and renovated the grotto besides aiding the education of the poor children. He also secured the NCVT approval for the technical school. The cemented road to the church was laid through the intervention of Fr. Gerard Majella (2003-2006). The parish thus has been fashioned over the years by the Salesians and education has been the tool that has transformed the lives of the poor of Tirupattur.
