History of the House Located in the lush green Yellagiri Hills in tranquil environments, Don Bosco – Idhayadeepam campus was founded in 1994 as the novitiate for the undivided province of Chennai through the generous assistance of Fr. Francis Guezou SDB (the founder and the builder of the Jolarpet & Yellagiri missions) and his benefactors -which today houses also the novices from the Tiruchy Province. As a formation house it draws its staff from both INM & INT provinces. Having been founded as an alternative to the Coimbatore – Vellakinar Don Bosco site, this place located on a hill station provides the ambience that is conducive to prayer and reflection for the novices.
Activities And SectorsThe Salesian community at Idaya Deepam Novitiate caters to the Salesian formation of the young novices who are discerning to accept God’s call and follow Him in the foot-steps of St. John Bosco.
